Dolly Parton's sister, Stella, has called for an end to fake AI-generated posts following the country legend's death.

Writing on Instagram, Stella thanked genuine supporters while expressing frustration at the 'tremendous amount of AI and endless garbage being posted', saying it had been 'challenging to absorb'.

The plea echoes similar requests from other celebrities' families, including Robin Williams' daughter Zelda and Robert Redford's daughter Amy, who also spoke out over AI-generated content following their respective deaths.

With a wave of AI-generated tributes and images, many are questioning the ethics of using such tools for tributes, and Dolly herself had previously expressed concerns about AI replacing human voices.

Stella Parton urged people to focus on Dolly's life as an example of 'tolerance and mutual respect', adding: 'It's not about the most clever comments, fake AI garbage or snarky tweets.'
