Meta Launches Meta One: AI-Driven Subscriptions

Is the future of social media really about paying to play?

Meta has unveiled its latest subscription service, Meta One, promising enhanced AI tools and premium features across Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp.

The move follows Meta’s $14.3 billion investment in Scale AI, a bid to monetize its own artificial intelligence models. The offering includes Core and Premium plans, each featuring AI-powered image and video creation and editing, alongside existing premium features like profile customizations and super reactions.

For businesses and creators, there are Essential, Advanced, Expert and Max plans, offering everything from business management tools to advanced analytics and team access.

While the exact usage limits are not specified, Meta intends to roll out additional features and agent skills, potentially transforming the social media landscape. Despite the confusing tier structure, analysts predict substantial revenue growth, with forecasts suggesting billions in added revenue by 2030.
