Anthropic has merged its Claude chat and Cowork interfaces, making its AI tools more user-friendly. The new design allows users to access chat, Cowork and Artifacts within a single window, reducing the confusion of deciding which tab to use. Claude Design, for website and prototype design, is now accessible anywhere within Claude. This marks a significant step towards an integrated AI experience, with additional features for making presentations and documents, aiming to streamline the workflow for users across different device types.

The roll-out is initially limited to Claude’s Pro and Max plans, with plans to extend the features to the free and team tiers in the future. This update comes after an upgrade to Cowork’s memory layer, enhancing Claude’s ability to remember user context across chats.

As AI interfaces continue to evolve, Anthropic’s move could set a precedent for other companies like OpenAI to follow. The goal is to make AI interactions more intuitive, potentially leading to a more seamless and efficient use of AI tools in daily work.

With dedicated features for presentations and documents, users can now ask Claude to create, edit and present slides, and even download the generated presentation as a PDF or PowerPoint. Similarly, the Docs feature allows users to work alongside Claude, creating sections, asking questions and commenting on completed parts, with the ability to share and edit documents on their phone.

The update is rolling out first to web, desktop and mobile users of Claude’s Pro and Max plans, with plans to extend to free and team tiers in the coming weeks. This development is part of a broader trend in AI technology towards more integrated and user-friendly interfaces.
