Microsoft dumps Copilot Plus PCs
Is it AI burnout or just a name change? The AI revolution may be more nuanced than its buzzwords.
Microsoft is officially done with its ‘Copilot Plus PC’ branding, despite the 12-inch Surface Pro and 13-inch Surface Laptop technically fitting the criteria. According to Microsoft Surface CVP Brett Ostrom, these devices won’t be called Copilot Plus PCs anymore. Qualcomm’s Kedar Kondap agreed, stating that future AI-branded computers might not use that term. While the Recall feature didn't impress, Microsoft’s focus now seems to shift to Nvidia chips, promising a new era of personal AI. Who knows what buzzword will capture the public's imagination next, but it seems the AI race is heating up—or rather, rebranding.
