Anthropic’s Claude for Startups: A Year of AI for Free

As AI grows, Anthropic focuses on the startups that shape our future, not just the tech itself.

On Tuesday, Anthropic announced an expanded version of its Claude for Startups program, offering a year of free access to its Claude Team, a paid plan designed for larger teams, alongside $1,000 in API credits. The new initiative also includes access to the Claude Marketplace, where startups can build their own plugins, and the opportunity to book virtual office hours with Anthropic’s Applied AI team.

"We believe the benefits of AI will reach most people through the companies that build on top of models, rather than through the models alone," said Anthropic in their announcement.

Companies interested in applying must have been founded within the past five years or have received funding in the last two years. The program is part of Anthropic’s SF Tech Week event, highlighting the company’s commitment to fostering innovation and collaboration in the tech community.

This move by Anthropic reflects a broader trend in AI, where companies are increasingly focusing on supporting the developers and founders who will ultimately shape the tech landscape. It underscores the belief that the real impact of AI will be defined by the companies and industries that adopt and integrate it.
