Replit CEO Amjad Masad envisions a “self-driving company” where artificial intelligence agents take on the grunt work, allowing humans to focus on creativity and decision-making. At TechCrunch Disrupt, Masad highlighted how AI has transformed his company, with agents handling initial triage of support tickets, leaving humans to make critical judgments.
“All of our jobs changed over the past year,” Masad said. “A big part of America and the world, they still don’t know that change is coming, and it’s going to be surprising to a lot of people.”
At Replit, the shift is evident in how support requests are handled, with agents doing the initial work, and humans deciding on the next steps. This change means more time is spent on strategic discussions and creative problem-solving, rather than repetitive tasks. “We’re spending a lot more time figuring out what to work on,” Masad explained.
Replit also sees this transformation as a way to enhance productivity and job satisfaction, with AI making work less monotonous. “There’s a positive vision of the world that Silicon Valley is not really putting out, and we’re hoping to do that,” Masad added.
