DoorDash has unveiled a suite of AI-driven tools designed to streamline restaurant onboarding and image editing. The new onboarding tool automatically fetches restaurant details from existing websites, while photo-editing features like AI Retouch and AI Replate ensure that dishes look their best. Additionally, the company has created a website builder based on existing app content and launched a marketing campaign automation tool.
These tools reflect DoorDash’s commitment to removing friction for merchants, allowing them to focus on what they do best: cooking up great meals. By automating these processes, DoorDash aims to enhance customer experiences and boost order conversion rates, with test results showing an average increase of nearly 10%.
The introduction of AI in this context raises questions about the future of culinary artistry. While the tools are undoubtedly helpful for quick visual improvements, they might also threaten some traditional methods of food presentation.
At DoorDash, Brian Tolkin, head of merchant product, stated: ‘The right technology should remove friction, not add it, so merchants can focus on what they do best: making great food and delivering incredible customer experiences.’
