The team from Bluesky has unveiled their latest project, Attie, an app designed to allow users to create custom feeds and potentially even build their own social apps using natural language commands.
During the Atmosphere conference, former CEO Jay Graber and CTO Paul Frazee presented this AI-driven tool, which leverages Anthropic’s Claude. Users can now craft personalized content streams without needing coding skills, marking a significant step towards empowering everyday people to curate their digital experiences.
In an interview with TechCrunch, interim CEO Toni Schneider explained that Attie is not part of the Bluesky app itself but rather a standalone product developed by Graber’s new team. This innovation aims to harness AI for more user-centric applications within the broader AT Protocol ecosystem.
Speaking about the vision behind Attie, Graber emphasized that the platform should serve people instead of platforms, echoing Bluesky's commitment to decentralization and user privacy. With $100 million in additional funding, the team is confident in pursuing this direction, ensuring both stability for the ecosystem and opportunities for innovation.
The introduction of Attie also addresses concerns from previous crypto-integration worries, as it focuses on decentralized social media rather than financial tools. Future monetization strategies remain under consideration but may include subscription models or hosting services for community builders on the AT Protocol.
