For years, your phone's Camera Roll has held a dual role: storing cherished memories and cataloguing online finds. Today, Pool steps in to make sense of this digital chaos, turning random screenshots into actionable insights.
The app imports your saved images into 'pools'—categories based on content like products or places you've saved over time. It then uses AI to trace back links, ensuring that when you screenshot a product, it leads directly to the retailer's website, and a recipe from Instagram opens up with all the details.
Co-founder Maxime Junique explains: 'It’s something we do so naturally—we don’t notice it, necessarily.' The idea came after both founders faced the same issue of losing sight of their screenshots. Pool's AI assists in rediscovering these saved moments and acting on them.
Sunrise for Pool came when Spinoff Studio, the co-founders’ product design studio, decided to focus on personal products again after pivoting away from B2B SaaS three years ago. The app’s return coincided with advancements in AI technology, making it feasible to tackle this deeply emotional dataset.
With a free download now available for iOS, Pool is set to launch its second app as an AI assistant with a rubber duck mascot, hinting at future personalisation possibilities.
