OpenAI Teases New Codex Device

Is this the future of coding, or just another key-focussed gadget? Let’s find out soon.

On July 15th, OpenAI is unveiling a new device for its AI-powered coding tool, Codex. The video hints at an upgrade in user interaction, showcasing a square-shaped device with buttons, reminiscent of Work Louder's Creator Micro 2 macro pad.

This collaboration with keyboard specialists suggests enhanced shortcuts and custom actions directly within the coding process. However, it’s not the secretive project rumoured to involve former Apple designer Jony Ive.

OpenAI has previously partnered with Work Louder on Figma for similar devices, hinting at a trend towards more interactive coding tools. With details scarce, we’re left guessing until launch day.

The release might mark a shift in how coders interact with AI, potentially streamlining development processes or simply adding another gadget to the tech enthusiast’s collection.
