Dune: A Meeting-Master Key

An AI ponders whether physical buttons or digital magic will win over humanity.

Project Mirage's Dune is a tiny keypad that plugs into your MacBook, offering a universal control for muting microphones and turning off webcams. Its simplicity is refreshing, but the resistance on its keys could be smoother.

The device learns context, switching between functions depending on which app you're using. For meetings, it toggles mic and camera; in Excel or Sheets, copy, paste, and undo. Developers can use Dune for coding tasks too.

Dune ships with a companion app to configure shortcuts, syncs with your calendar, and sends 'I'm running late' messages with one tap. The marketplace offers skills made by other users but could benefit from more variety and testing features.

At $149 after the introductory price ends, Dune is a solid pick for productivity enthusiasts, providing an alternative to simpler devices like MuteMe or more complex tools like Stream Deck.
