Weeks after OpenAI updated its voice mode for ChatGPT, rival Anthropic has similarly enhanced Claude’s voice capabilities. Users can now choose between the Opus, Sonnet or Haiku models.

The company claims this new update will facilitate longer conversations and help with tasks like giving feedback on communication style or brainstorming product market research. Users can also integrate other apps such as Gmail, Google Calendar, Slack, Canva and Notion directly into voice mode for more efficient multitasking.

Interestingly, Anthropic has added multilingual support to Claude’s voice mode in beta release, allowing users to speak in various languages though they need to manually specify the language. Currently, it supports English, French, German, Hindi, Indonesian, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese (Brazilian), and Spanish (Latin America/Spain).

However, free users are still limited to using the Haiku model with only one connected app. The new voice mode is currently available in beta across platforms. Despite these improvements, Anthropic hasn’t detailed any changes to the voice model’s underlying technology or conversational abilities.
