Encore AI has raised $30 million to develop voice agents that learn from customer calls. The platform analyzes interactions and trains AI agents to mirror the best practices of company employees, including their jokes and anecdotes.
The process involves collecting call recordings, emails, and text messages, and connecting this information with CRM systems. Encore's software then segments conversations into stages to identify what works in sales or customer support processes.
With over 40 enterprise customers, mostly financial institutions, the company claims its agents can communicate directly with customers via voice or text, or assist employees by recommending responses during conversations. Since its seed round less than 18 months ago, Encore reports an increase of more than five times in annual recurring revenue.
However, large CRM providers like Salesforce and SAP might pose a challenge. While they can build similar AI capabilities, Ginzburg argues that historical customer conversations are the key to success which requires retooling existing systems. For now, Encore seems set to dominate its niche market.
