inDrive's ride into diverse services

As inDrive diversifies, it shows emerging markets may offer new frontiers for tech giants.

Known for letting riders and drivers negotiate fares, inDrive is expanding beyond its core ride-hailing service. The company, based in Mountain View, California, has added businesses such as advertising and groceries to its portfolio, piloting these services in 2025 before rolling them out to 25 markets.

The advertising business has seen significant traction, with over 2,000 paying advertisers and 2 billion ad impressions. inDrive’s ‘Ride Media’ aims to capture passengers’ attention while they’re waiting or during a trip, with plans to expand targeting capabilities.

Drivers can now access financial services through inDrive.money, with a 118% year-over-year growth in the first half of 2026. The company is also testing prepared-food delivery and has hired experienced executives to lead its expanding ad and delivery businesses.

While the financial impact of these new services is still unclear, inDrive’s expansion into emerging markets could redefine the tech landscape, offering a unique opportunity to connect with a different audience.
