Nvidia’s Huang Sees AI’s Future in the Clouds

Nvidia’s dominance in AI is like its GPUs in gaming, but with a 70% growth forecast. Neat, huh?

Founder and CEO Jensen Huang, at the Goldman Sachs Communacopia + Technology conference, laid out why Nvidia will continue to dominate AI and see a 70% growth in revenues next year. He cited Nvidia’s central role in the AI ecosystem and its embedded position in data centers, GPUs and AI models.

‘Most people think Nvidia builds a chip. I mean, you need airplanes to ship what we build,’ Huang quipped, hinting at the scale of their operations. He also highlighted the 27% month-on-month growth in orders for one of their products, a computer system combining 36 Grace CPUs with 72 Blackwell GPUs.

Huang’s confidence in Nvidia’s future is rooted in the company’s comprehensive involvement in the AI industry. ‘Nvidia runs every model. Every single lab can use us,’ he said, mentioning Anthropic, OpenAI, and Google as examples. He also discussed Nvidia’s tracking of energy consumption and its partnerships with various companies, stating that he has seen $100 billion worth of real contracts.

While Huang acknowledged that AI’s growth is partly driven by AI-native startups, he remains optimistic about Nvidia’s future. ‘Time will tell whether Nvidia’s stronghold on AI can really persist long term. If there’s one golden rule of the tech industry, it’s that all big things get disrupted.’
