While many tech firms struggle amid the AI boom, Vercel, an established web hosting and development tool provider, has seen its business flourish. The company’s annual recurring revenue (ARR) has surged from $100 million at the start of 2024 to a run rate of $340 million by February 2026, according to Forbes.
Vercel CEO Guillermo Rauch hinted at his company's readiness for an initial public offering (IPO) during a keynote speech at the HumanX conference in San Francisco. He stated that Vercel is already operating with the discipline of a public entity and that it is getting more ready every day, although no specific timeline was given.
The explosion in app creation by non-developers has been a significant factor for Vercel’s growth. Rauch noted that 30% of the apps running on its platform are now from AI agents. He believes this trend will accelerate software production and make hosting services more critical, with Vercel at the helm.
As the infrastructure market grows without any ceiling, Vercel is positioning itself as the primary platform for hosting applications developed by AI agents. Rauch stated that all generated software needs somewhere to go, and it’s likely to be Vercel. The company was valued at $9.3 billion after raising a $300 million Series F led by Accel in September.
