Netflix has once again adjusted its pricing ladder, with all tiers experiencing an increase by up to 12.5%. The ad-supported plan now costs £9 per month, up from £8; the Standard plan is priced at £20, previously costing £18; and the top-tier Premium plan will set you back £27, compared to its previous price of £25.
For context, Disney+ starts at £12 with ads and moves to £19 without. Netflix’s last significant price jump was in 2025 when subscribers paid up to 16% more than before; the company’s most recent hike prior to that was in 2023.
Netflix attributed the increase to the “wide range of entertainment” and improvements to the service, which includes HDR10+ support and new subtitles. The streaming giant has also been busy revamping its TV app and planning for an updated mobile app and AI-generated advertisements – a feature that likely won’t be as popular with current subscribers.
Despite these changes, it’s clear that Netflix is committed to staying relevant in the ever-evolving digital landscape of entertainment. For now, we’ll just have to enjoy our favourite shows while trying not to think too hard about the monthly bill.
