Visa has joined forces with Replit, an AI coding platform, in a bid to make payment processing easier for developers. The partnership aims to integrate Visa’s payment tools into Replit, enabling users to accept payments directly within the platform. With over 1,000 of its employees already using Replit, Visa sees potential in this collaboration. Both companies are exploring how AI agents can use Visa’s suite for intelligent commerce and its Trusted Agent Protocol.
The move comes as other tech giants like Robinhood and Google also explore similar technologies to facilitate agent-driven transactions. As the race intensifies, startups like Replit are quickly gaining traction, with valuations soaring despite the early stage of their projects.
Amjad Masad, CEO of Replit, highlighted the company's mission to make coding accessible for all while ensuring security. The platform is also introducing a self-serve enterprise access feature that allows companies to sign contracts worth up to $200,000 without needing to speak to salespeople.
Replit’s success story reflects broader trends in tech, where startups are rapidly attracting investment and valuations. The company has seen its valuation rise from $3 billion last September to $9 billion just six months later, following a Series D funding round led by Georgian Partners.
The low churn rate and high net retention among users indicate customer satisfaction. Replit is setting up single-tenant environments for enterprise customers to ensure they stay committed to the platform, highlighting its confidence in the technology's future prospects.
