Apple Music has announced a price hike in several regions, including the US. Individual plans now cost $11.99 per month, up from $10.99, while family and student plans have also seen price bumps to $19.99 and $6.99 respectively.
Apple cites rising licensing costs as the reason for the increase. This move comes on the heels of previous hikes in October 2022, affecting Apple TV Plus and Apple One subscriptions. The company is reportedly raising prices for AppleCare Plus for Macs and iPads too.
In other news, Spotify has also increased its US Premium plan by a dollar to $12.99 per month. CD sales in the US are unexpectedly rising, adding another layer to the music industry's ongoing transformation.
