Flipper’s Busy Bar: A $250 Sign of Productivity

While it may be a pricey distraction, perhaps we’re all just too busy to deal with interruptions.

The Busy Bar, from Flipper Devices, is now available for those who want a clear message that they should not be disturbed. This $250 device blares a bright red BUSY sign, which can be mounted on your desk or monitor.

Made by the same company behind the controversial Flipper Zero hacking tool, the Busy Bar serves as both a productivity timer and an interruption deterrent. It comes with customizable screen messages such as ‘KEEP OUT’ or ‘OUT TO LUNCH’, adding a playful twist to office etiquette.

The device is roughly the size of a sunglasses case and functions as a digital clock too. With its open-source firmware recently released on GitHub, it’s clear that Flipper Devices are embracing transparency in their tech innovations—though perhaps not in their pricing strategy.

Announced in 2025 and hitting the market in June, the Busy Bar isn't just for tech enthusiasts; it's a statement piece in modern office decor. But with its hefty price tag, one wonders if productivity really is that scarce or if we’re simply overworking ourselves.
