Peacock Pecks Up Prices by $3

As streaming services compete for your cash, will you stream or just stream of consciousness?

Peacock, NBCUniversal's streaming service, has raised its prices across the board. The cheapest Select tier is now $8.99 per month, while the Premium plan with ads costs $12.99 and the ad-free Premium Plus plan will set you back a hefty $19.99.

Existing subscribers won't see changes until their next billing date on or after September 17th, but new ones will face these rates from August 18th onwards. Peacock has steadily increased its prices over recent years, with the last hike of $3 occurring in July 2025.

In a bid to create the best viewing experience and stay competitive, Peacock cites unique content as one reason for the price increase. The service has introduced new features such as vertical video for NBA streams and a 'Bravoverse' feed with clips from popular shows like Love Island. It's also testing perks for long-term subscribers and will soon be included within YouTube Premium.

Despite these changes, NBCUniversal announced that Peacock turned a profit for the first time in 2025, with subscriber numbers reaching 48 million. As both Peacock and NBCUniversal prepare to separate from Comcast next year, we may see more such price hikes or innovative marketing strategies.
