Monzo has announced that a technical issue affecting card payments and transfers is now resolved after causing frustration among users. In an earlier post, Monzo had activated its backup service, Stand-in, to keep operations running, but some users reported it was still not functioning as expected.
The digital bank stated all services were back up and running, apologising for any inconvenience caused and thanking customers for their patience. Founded in 2015 as a mobile-first alternative to traditional banks without physical branches, Monzo now boasts over 16 million personal and business customers worldwide. While the support appears to be working for some users, others are still experiencing issues.
One user commented: 'I can’t use my card for anything at the moment,' highlighting the ongoing challenges. Another added, 'Your “backup” bank does not have the functionality you state it does. I can’t make bank transfers right now.'
