Nintendo Unveils Zelda Anniversary & Switch 2 Teases

Is the Switch 2 worth the extra $50? Nintendo’s Directs give us a glimpse.

Nintendo has announced two Direct events for next week, with the first event scheduled for September 8th at 10AM ET / 7AM PT. This event will celebrate the 40th anniversary of The Legend of Zelda series, and is expected to stream live on Nintendo’s YouTube channel or the Nintendo Today app. The second Direct event, which will air the following day, will showcase new Switch 2 games launching this winter, with a Nintendo Treehouse livestream to follow. While no specific games have been named as part of the Zelda anniversary event, recent leaks have hinted at a special-edition console and controller, as well as the upcoming Ocarina of Time remake. The hype around the Switch 2 has also started, with questions about what games might justify the higher price tag.
