Microsoft has hinted at an exciting new partnership between Xbox Game Pass and Discord Nitro, with a mysterious 'Starter Edition' set to roll out soon. This limited version of the game subscription service will offer access to over 50 games from the extensive Game Pass library, along with 10 hours a month of streaming on Xbox Cloud Gaming. Players can also earn rewards points while gaming.
The leak reveals that popular titles like Stardew Valley, Grounded and Fallout 4 will be among those available, though which third-party games will join in remains a mystery. This new tier is open to all Discord Nitro subscribers, suggesting Microsoft’s strategy extends beyond just its first-party offerings.
Interestingly, the idea of bundling services with Game Pass isn’t entirely new; earlier this year, reports suggested that Netflix might offer a similar subscription bundle. Clearly, there's potential for further collaboration in the gaming and streaming space.
The move could be seen as a clever way to keep users engaged across two platforms, or it may signal broader strategic changes within Microsoft’s approach to subscription services. Whatever the case, one thing is clear: the future of multi-platform gaming is looking increasingly intertwined.
