Turtle Beach’s latest Command Series MC7 mouse is packed with features, including a 2.25-inch touch display bar on its side, designed to mimic a Stream Deck for customizable commands. However, it seems more like an engineering experiment gone wrong, as users are likely to hit it by accident with their thumbs.
The mouse also includes dual hot-swappable batteries, promising up to 10 hours of use or 15 if the lighting features are disabled. Alongside the MC7 is a touchscreen-wielding KB7 TKL Hall-Effect wired keyboard and a KB5 wired mechanical keyboard with its own 2.4-inch screen above the numpad.
This over-engineering trend, while innovative, might just be frustrating for users who prefer simplicity. Will future peripherals follow this path or revert to more traditional designs?
A full lineup of these products is available for preorder now, with keyboards launching in May and mice in July, showcasing Turtle Beach’s bold approach to gaming hardware.
