Roblox has announced a significant drop in its global daily active users, with the count falling to 132 million from 152 million in Q3 2025. This decline is partly attributed to the implementation of age-check features that have slowed down new user acquisitions.
Despite the decrease, Roblox's revenue has continued to climb, reaching $1.4 billion. The company plans to further improve its safety measures over the next few quarters, which are expected to lower growth expectations for 2026.
In Europe, the number of active users dropped by one million in the last quarter, with only 51% of global daily active users having undergone age checks. In the US specifically, this figure is a more encouraging 65%. To address these changes, Roblox has increased its Developer Exchange rate for older users who have passed the age check.
While safety should be paramount, some wonder if these measures might be squeezing joy from an already popular platform. How much protection is too much?
