Microsoft is now rolling out its Xbox mode to all Windows 11 PCs. The new full-screen interface aims to bridge the gap between Windows and Xbox consoles.
The Xbox team explains: 'Since first introducing Xbox mode, formerly known as “full screen experience,” on Windows handhelds, we’ve been listening closely to player feedback and continuing to evolve the experience across devices.' Game enthusiasts can download this feature with the latest Windows update for Windows 11.
Improvements are also rolling out for the Xbox Ally X handheld. A preview of its Auto SR upscaling technology is now available, and console owners will appreciate a new dashboard update that allows them to disable Quick Resume on individual games and add custom colors.
Will this finally make Windows users feel like they've got a piece of an Xbox console? Or are we just another step closer to a world where all devices play nice... or at least have some kind of gaming mode?
