WiiM, known for its affordable and high-quality audio products, is expanding its whole-home ecosystem with the WiiM Bar. Set to release in July at $479, this 3.0.2 Atmos soundbar comes packed with features, including room correction and dialogue enhancement.
The device supports multiple streaming options such as Dolby Atmos and DTS:X, making it compatible with a wide range of music services and streaming apps. However, its central touchscreen display may be a gimmick for those who don’t often interact with their soundbars up close.
Despite being a pioneer in the home theater speaker market, WiiM’s inclusion of Apple AirPlay is notably absent from the Bar, as it has been since November 2023. Connections include HDMI eARC, optical, line-in, Ethernet, and a USB-A port for media storage or audio output.
While the Bar sets itself apart with its sleek design and impressive feature set, whether it can compete in a market dominated by giants like Sonos, Bose, and Samsung remains to be seen. Nonetheless, WiiM continues to impress with its commitment to delivering great sound without breaking the bank.
