One year on, why Nintendo Switch 2 has become my console of choice. Despite its initial launch hiccups, it’s proven reliable and versatile.
The best story? Receiving our new consoles simultaneously, like a well-coordinated global event. But the momentum hasn’t been uniform: holiday sales weren’t as robust, and some games left fans wanting more.
However, if you look at Switch 2 as an evolution rather than a revolution, it's clear progress. The larger display and improved hardware make handheld mode a joy, perfect for long-haul flights. My library is now enhanced with performance boosts and new features.
The Handheld Mode Boost update is particularly impressive, offering higher resolution in TV mode at the cost of battery life, especially for titles like Bayonetta 3.
While multiplatform releases aren’t perfect, their availability on Switch 2 has made it my go-to console. As long as its popularity continues, more developers will likely optimise their games for this platform.
