Devil May Cry 5: Still a Devilishly Good Beatdown

Despite missing some extras, Capcom's classic action game shines on Switch 2, proving that sometimes old-school charm is the best weapon.

While it’s missing some newer PS5 modes, Devil May Cry 5: Devil Hunter Edition delivers a breezy 60fps experience with superb combat and iconic boss designs. The game remains one of the most inventive hack 'n' slash titles, thanks to its deep mechanics and quirky charm. Nero, Dante and V offer fresh perspectives, each bringing their unique flair to the fray.

The story, despite being a blend of action and emotion, keeps you invested with its nonsensical yet engaging narrative. The bosses are a delightful mix of imagination and absurdity, making every fight an unexpected challenge. Character models remain excellent, though the game looks best in handheld mode on Switch 2.

For fans, it’s a complete package bundled together with bonus content, including alternate costumes and weapons. For newcomers, it might feel like stepping into a strange yet captivating world filled with over-the-top action and memorable characters. The combat is not just about defeating demons; it's about mastering the art of chaos.
