AMD has announced the release of FidelityFX Super Resolution (FSR) 4.1 upscaling technology for older Radeon RX 7000-series graphics cards. This update promises to enhance image quality and smooth gameplay in over 300 games, making them more accessible on less powerful machines.
The tech is also being developed for RDNA APUs, ensuring a broader range of devices can benefit from the improvements. AMD’s Jack Huynh stated that lightweight machine learning models are under development to bring FSR 4.1 to even more devices, including RDNA 2 cards by early 2027.
Excitingly, FSR 4.1 will be supported in upcoming titles such as Doom: The Dark Ages Revelations and Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced, set for release on July 7th and 9th respectively. This move by AMD underscores their commitment to making high-quality gaming experiences more widely available.
