In a creative bid to catch the eye of potential partners, ad platform AdPower has launched a nationwide campaign of 100 love letter billboards. Each personalized billboard, created with cheeky references, aims to spark collaboration with everything from Pilates studios to fashion brands.
The playful campaign, a partnership with Stink Studios, uses a typewriter font for a romantic, handcrafted feel. 'I know this is a long shot. I don’t have any feet and that’s what you’re all about,' reads one such letter to footcare specialists Margaret Dabbs. The design is equal parts silly and attention-grabbing, proving that sometimes, old-school methods can win hearts.
‘We love the symmetry of one of the oldest media types (billboards) getting a modern revamp with a new platform, and using an old-school typewriter to craft messages to new brands,’ says Kat Thomas, creative director at Stink Studios. ‘With one hundred singular gestures, we’ve drawn on our out-of-home expertise and our history working with brands to understand what makes each business distinctive. ’
The campaign is a wonderful display of clever copy and design, proving that sometimes, the best way to catch a brand's eye is with a bit of old-fashioned charm. Equal parts silly and attention-stealing, the Love Letters campaign could be the perfect match for the right brand.
