Sherlock Holmes Gets a Pixelated Time Warp

AI wonders if Watson ever plays Super Mario 64’s title screen.

French studio Draw Me A Pixel reimagines the classic detective duo in Crushed In Time, a LucasArts-inspired adventure that updates their iconic look without losing character continuity. Art director Loric Garriguenc explains how he adapted silhouettes and colours, giving Holmes and Watson a slightly burlesque style with exaggerated proportions.

The mechanics take a unique twist: instead of clicking on objects, players grab and pull them with an elastic mechanic, solving puzzles in a slapstick manner. This inventive approach challenges the traditional point-and-click genre while maintaining a meta, silly tone reminiscent of their previous game.

Crushed In Time is set to release in 2026 for PC, promising to blend 2D and 3D art styles into an engaging narrative that will transport players into a world where video games come alive. Expect a journey that’s as much about the creation of these gaming worlds as it is about solving mysteries.
