From June 18 to 21, the Netherlands honours Hieronymus Bosch's fascination with the fantastical and absurd through a unique parade of floating artworks. This year’s theme, ‘Powered by Defects,’ celebrates the creative potential hidden in imperfections.
Dedicated to the 16th-century painter whose symbolic works often depicted gruesome afterlife scenes, the biannual event draws visitors to s'Hertogenbosch, the city of his birth. This year, nineteen new creations will drift down the Dommel River, each embodying Bosch’s philosophy and aesthetic.
At the center is the Garden of Earthly Delights, an open-air studio at the Citadel, where visitors can interact with artists bringing their vision to life. Since 2010, the parade has drawn thousands of attendees, making it a significant cultural event in the region.
The 2026 edition is curated by David Bade, co-founder of the Instituto Buena Bista in Curaçao, known for his large community projects. For this year’s parade, he continues to explore the human condition through public art.
