With its low-profile casing and gentle power draw, the Intel Arc Pro B50 might just find a home in smaller workstation PCs. It’s an excellent upgrade over integrated graphics but lacks the raw power of dedicated gaming cards and comes with some tricky installation steps.
The card boasts four monitor outputs and 16GB of VRAM, making it a solid choice for those who need to run complex AI models or HEVC and AV1 encoding. However, its performance falls short when compared to more expensive rivals like the Nvidia A1000 and RTX 5060.
While Intel’s graphics might not get as much attention as their NVIDIA counterparts, this B50 is a step forward in the Xe2 ‘Battlemage’ generation of GPUs. Despite its attractive blue backplate, users will need to be prepared for some fiddly bracket changes and limited compatibility with Macs and Windows laptops using Snapdragon processors.
The Arc Pro software offers interesting features like Resizable BAR support and GPU scaling options, but the card’s design leaves something to be desired, especially in terms of space requirements. For creatives who need more than what a CPU can offer, the B50 is a solid option, even if it doesn’t quite match its pricier competitors.
