NEVERCREW, consisting of Christian Rebecchi and Pablo Togni, have created a striking series of murals that merge the raw beauty of nature with the concrete jungles of urban centers. Their latest work, “Souvenir,” features a colossal bear in the midst of Arctic elements like icebergs and seabirds, creating an eerie blend of natural and artificial scenes.
The pair’s immersive murals serve as stark reminders of our often superficial relationship with nature. By placing these animals within urban confines, they highlight how we tend to observe and manipulate nature rather than experience it intimately. The terrarium-like settings for whales, bears, and elephants in their earlier works also underscore the tension between our daily lives and the natural world.
Through their vibrant and thought-provoking murals, NEVERCREW encourage us to reconsider our role within this delicate balance. By bringing nature into urban spaces, they challenge viewers to question how we relate to wildlife and whether our actions reflect a genuine connection or just a superficial appreciation.
