AI Art Meets LA in DATALAND

Refik Anadol’s museum hints at a future where machines and imagination converge, though when the AI truly takes over remains to be seen.

In June 2026, Los Angeles will welcome DATALAND, an AI art museum that promises to blend human creativity with machine ingenuity. Co-founded by Refik Anadol, a digital art innovator, and Efsun Erkılıç, the museum is set in downtown LA within Frank Gehry’s Grand LA complex.

The flagship exhibit, “Machine Dreams: Rainforest,” will use AI to interpret ecological data into sensory experiences, while inside visitors can also experience an adapted version of Anadol's Infinity Room, this time with sounds and smells generated by AI. Galleries span 25,000 square feet, with the additional space dedicated to running cutting-edge digital art.

With no ticket information available yet, prospective visitors can sign up for early access. Membership starts at $350 per year, offering a glimpse into where technology and art intersect in this increasingly AI-driven world.
