TomorrowHead Studio’s debut Will: Follow The Light is a stunning visual odyssey, thanks to Unreal Engine 5's advanced lighting. However, the game stumbles with unclear objectives and subpar character models.
The narrative takes us on a harrowing journey through desolate northern landscapes, but the complexity of its story often feels like a riddle wrapped in a mystery. Will’s struggle to find his missing son is compelling, yet the sense of direction is occasionally lost, leaving players feeling bamboozled.
Despite these hiccups, the game excels with its photorealistic environments and intricate puzzles that require more than just button mashing. The lamp mechanic adds a layer of realism, but it also serves as a timely reminder to recharge frequently.
The variety of locations—from lighthouses to snowy terrains—keeps the player engaged for its 6-8 hour playtime. Yet, the game could benefit from clearer signposting and more intuitive narrative clues to enhance the overall experience.
