In 'Everything Now All At Once' at the Nasher Museum of Art in Durham, North Carolina, the title truly encapsulates the essence. Dozens of works by artists such as Nick Cave, Ai Weiwei, Nina Chanel Abney, Wangechi Mutu and many others reflect a contemporary art world that prioritises globalism and diversity, with lessons from history informing visions for the future.
Interestingly, despite the era’s rapid technological advancements, these pieces are decidedly analog. The Nasher Museum focuses on painting and sculpture—genres often seen as the pinnacle of 'high art'—while also celebrating underrepresented voices through rich depictions of global cultures and people of colour. This exhibition highlights joy, resilience and individuality.
Works such as Jeffrey Gibson's beaded punching bag series and Amy Sherald's vivid portraits are part of a collection that showcases iconic pieces from historically marginalized backgrounds. Visitors can witness the incredible creativity of dozens of artists in this show, which has significantly underrepresented voices in art history.
The exhibition 'Everything Now All At Once' is ongoing since August 2025 and will continue until November 1. New pieces are set to be added next month, ensuring a dynamic and ever-evolving experience for visitors.
