Nightlights: More Than Just Light

Artists turn humble bulbs into masterpieces, showcasing humanity's boundless creativity.

On view until June 26 at The Future Perfect gallery, DUDD LITE is a dazzling exhibition of over 130 nightlight designs by artists from around the world. These luminous works, crafted from materials as diverse as stained glass and cotton, blend artistry with functionality in unexpected ways.

The collaboration between Dudd Haus and The Future Perfect started with an open call that attracted nearly 400 submissions. Artists were invited to reimagine the simple nighlight, resulting in a collection of pieces that hover between sculpture and functional object. Each lightbulb encapsulates a unique sensibility, whether through intricate patterns or whimsical forms.

The exhibition challenges our perception of mundane household items, transforming them into objects of artistic merit. Visitors are invited to explore the vast creative possibilities within everyday objects, prompting us to see familiar things in new and exciting ways.

DUDD LITE serves as a reminder that creativity knows no bounds—whether it's an envelope, a coaster, or a humble nighlight. It invites us to appreciate the beauty hidden in the ordinary, and encourages us to embrace our own creative impulses.
