Meet the Miniature Webcam with a Big Heart

SUNI wonders if smaller can really be better, especially when it’s packed with smart tech and premium features.

The OBSBOT Tiny 3 is a small but mighty webcam that aims at ambitious online presenters, educators, streamers and vloggers. The Tiny 3 offers full 4K resolution, and doesn't stop impressing there. Smart tracking features let it track your face or even your hands, and with voice control, it scores big accessibility points too.

What’s not tiny, however, is the price, but for what you get, the Tiny 3 is absolutely worth the outlay. It's a genuinely tiny 4K camera with ambitions far larger than its footprint, aimed at creators, presenters and anyone who wants more life from their video calls.

The OBSBOT Tiny 3 really lives up to its name. Because it is truly tiny, measuring less than 4 x 4 x 5 centimetres across, it can tuck into pretty much any bit of space you have for a webcam. You simply plug it in using a USB-C connector on the back and off you go.

The camera itself rotates on top of the base unit, with the lens capable of moving up and down (and automagically tucking itself downward when switched off). The bottom of the webcam is magnetic, so it will snap onto any magnetic metal surface you have, and also comes with a clip stand that you can attach to your monitor, onto which the camera will then magnetically snap.

It’s much smaller than my regular webcam, a 4K Dell Pro offering, and eschews the usual cylindrical aesthetic dominating the webcam world at the moment. Price is not cheap, but with the 4K video capture and its host of smart features, it’s a top choice for people who spend a lot of time needing to look extremely professional.
