Following devastating earthquakes in Venezuela on June 24, local and diaspora artists have rallied to aid efforts through solidarity fundraisers.
Interdisciplinary artist CristΓ³bal Ochoa postponed his own exhibition to organize TODOS X VENEZUELA, offering works at a 30% discount. Proceeds go directly to humanitarian organizations, including Caritas. Pieces include interventions by Venezuelan artists Flores Solano and Josune Delgado.
MarΓa Elena Pombo runs an Instagram feed listing direct needs, emphasizing the reliance on trusted personal networks for aid. New York-based artist Valentina VacΓ³ says, βWe feel a responsibility to help rebuild... a place that, however far away we live, will always be home.β
At Sorondo Projects in Barcelona, founder Juliana Sorondo is redirecting support toward humanitarian aid through photographic works by Venezuelan artists. Ferreroβs image of a woman carried across the border highlights solidarity and perseverance.
This grassroots effort reflects broader conditions in Venezuela where citizens rely on each other for survival. The rebuilding process will be long but these acts keep pressure on global attention towards Venezuela, ensuring aid remains a priority.
