Tattoo artist Mark Worst found his ideal studio in a converted warehouse in Los Angeles. Walking into the space, he saw sunlight through industrial windows and knew this was where he wanted to work.
The high ceilings of the art loft inspired him, allowing him to think bigger, especially important after his background painting large-scale murals. He enjoys working on huge walls, often starting with yoga and sketching before moving into project work.
Mark’s studio is a creative sanctuary filled with furniture, books, and art materials given away by fellow artists. He listens to audiobooks and binge-watches shows while working as an ADHD hack, ensuring his mind stays engaged. His collection of mechanical pencils is the heart of his drawing practice, with a favourite being a limited-edition Platinum Hayakawa Pencil.
His tattoo work draws inspiration from Soulsborne games, allowing him to expand his visual library and redraw characters in different poses. Mark aims for balance between tattoo work and personal projects, planning to create a series of charcoal works incorporating what he’s learned.
