I’d still buy the Pokémon X Polaroid cameras, but I think the designs had potential to be so much better. If you’re going to make Pokémon cameras, at least give them ears! 🙄

Has the company completely forgotten that one of its most iconic games is called Pokémon Snap? The retro cartridge is my favourite thing to play on my Nintendo 64, as well as the newer title on my Switch 2, and the collab could have taken a Leaf-eon (sorry) out of Instax's book and allowed you to transfer images from the camera to the console, and vice versa, to print your Pokémon snaps.

Not to mention, Cadea highlighted why there isn't a Rotom-themed camera. For those who don’t know, Rotom is an orange Pokémon that can transform itself into various forms of technology and household appliances. C'mon Pokémon... it was right there!

The Polaroid Go Gen 3 series was the wrong model choice. If you want to celebrate nostalgia in both a gaming franchise AND photography, they should have gone for a Polaroid Supercolour 635 (I own one of these, and they’re gorgeous).

My fave Pokémon Polaroid camera out of the newly announced trio is the Pokéball edition, which does opt for the Polaroid Now Gen 3 model and looks so much better than its siblings in the collection, at least in my opinion. The strap complements the camera beautifully, rather than sticking out like a sore thumb, and it totally leans into the Pokéball theme without trying to retain subtlety like the other two models.
