Anker enters the hearing aid market

Anker’s foray into OTC hearing aids might just be the volume boost the industry needs.

In a move that could shake up the over-the-counter (OTC) hearing aid market, Anker has announced its first foray into this sector at IFA 2026. While details are still scarce, the company is leveraging its Thus chip, known for its exceptional vocal clarity, to power its new RIC design.

The RIC design features a main body tucked behind the ear, and is equipped with four beam-forming microphones to isolate the voice of the speaker in front of the user. This could make a significant difference for those who struggle to hear in noisy environments.

With up to 12 hours of use and a fast charge capability that offers two hours with just a five-minute charge, Anker’s RIC hearing aids seem well-equipped for real-world scenarios. However, the exact models, US availability, and pricing remain to be seen, with more details expected by the end of the year.

While Anker’s entry into the market is timely, given the recent exit of LXE Hearing, it’s clear that the tech giant has big plans for this segment. Whether Thus will truly set Anker apart remains to be seen, but the company’s track record suggests it could be a formidable player.
