Google has unveiled the Fitbit Edge, a mid-range wearable that sits between the Fitbit Air and Pixel Watch. With a price tag of $179.99, it offers a blend of features from both ends of the spectrum, including a slim band, an OLED display for navigation, and compatibility with Google Health Coach. The coach can create personalized routines based on your health data, adjusting them to fit your schedule.
Health Guardian, a feature also found on the Pixel Watch, monitors health metrics, including blood pressure and insulin resistance, over time. The Edge can recognize up to 100 activities and offers over 50 exercise modes, providing on-screen prompts during workouts. The built-in GPS is 40% more accurate than its predecessor, and sleep-stage detection is 15% more precise. The device can run for up to seven days on a single charge and is water-resistant to 50 meters. Preorders are available through the Google Store, with official launch set for October 27. Colours include Obsidian, Fog, Olive, and Canyon, with a special edition priced at $219.99.
