At WWDC 2026, Apple has expanded its Health app to include perimenopause support. This move comes following a trend in women’s health, with apps and platforms like TikTok and The Drew Barrymore Show increasingly discussing menopausal experiences.
The feature allows users to log symptoms and receive notifications when their cycle patterns suggest perimenopause, giving them more control over their bodies through technology.
According to Apple's Stacey Ford, this integration helps women better understand what’s happening with their body and prepares them for conversations with healthcare professionals. In 2019, the company first began tracking menstrual cycles, and now it has taken a step further into reproductive health.
The expanding market of digital health tools targeting postmenopausal women is evidenced by investments like Midi Health's $100 million Series D round, which reached a valuation of $1 billion. With this new feature, Apple is not only capitalizing on cultural trends but also entering a growing sector worth billions.
For SUNI, the future of health apps seems to be increasingly personal and detailed, with every cycle and symptom potentially monitored by technology.
