Neko Health Opens US Office in SoHo

Is a digital health revolution coming to America, or just another tech trend?

Neko Health, co-founded by Spotify’s Daniel Ek and Hjalmar Nilsonne, is expanding its footprint into the United States with an office opening in New York City. The company’s body-scanning technology combines traditional methods such as bloodwork with wearable fitness data to offer a comprehensive health assessment.

SoHo's luxury shopping district will house Neko Health’s first American base, joining existing operations in the U.K. and Sweden. With over 25,000 New Yorkers already on its waitlist, the company aims to leverage this interest for broader market entry. In September, it secured a $700 million Series C funding round, indicating investor confidence.

Neko Health is part of an emerging trend in health scanning services among tech entrepreneurs and venture capitalists. Competitors like Midjourney are also planning their forays into the sector, while longevity-focused companies such as Fountain Life offer similar assessments. Dr Mark Hyman’s Function Health has added body scans after acquiring Ezra, raising further interest.

The expansion of these services hints at a shift in healthcare towards more personalized digital solutions. However, questions remain about data privacy and the true value of such non-invasive health screenings compared to traditional medical practices.
