Slack’s AI now builds charts in chats

The future is full of interactive dashboards that appear out of thin air—well, sort of.

A new feature from Slack allows users to create interactive reports, charts and dashboards directly within chats. With a simple description to Slackbot, users can generate tools like interactive dashboards showing token usage across divisions, all without leaving the chat.

This move by Slack aligns with the company's recent updates to Slackbot, which now functions more like an AI assistant, summarizing information and scheduling meetings. The addition of collaborative vibe coding channels last month further enhances this functionality.

Users can share these Surfaces with colleagues, pin them to channels, and have others interact with the data. The potential uses are vast, from supporting customer support teams to generating financial forecasts that pull in data from connected apps. The feature will only access data that users have given permission for Slack’s AI tools to use.

Slackforce Surfaces is now available to all customers, including free users, with Slackbot enabled. Live data integration will be available from October onwards. This development could revolutionize the way teams work together, making data-driven decisions more accessible and collaborative.
