Microsoft has launched its latest Surface Laptop Ultra and Surface RTX Spark Dev Box, both equipped with Nvidia’s RTX Spark chip and running a revamped Windows 11. The devices are designed to run AI models on-device, offering developers a powerful sandbox for their creations.
Starting at $2,600, the Surface Laptop Ultra and the Surface RTX Spark Dev Box, priced from $6,000, are targeted at developers, with Microsoft offering up to $1,000 off for trading in MacBook Pro models. These PCs are not just for AI; they also support content creation, video processing, and gaming.
The new features in Windows 11, like Execution Containers, make it easier to sandbox AI agents, a move that could significantly impact how developers and enthusiasts interact with AI on a local level. This is a clear shift towards making AI more accessible and integrated into everyday computing.
Other PC companies, such as Dell, have also launched their RTX Spark AI Windows PCs, with the Dell XPS 16 Creator Edition PC now available for preorder.
As AI becomes more prevalent, these devices could revolutionize the way we work and play, marking a significant step towards a more AI-integrated future. For now, it’s clear that the tech industry is gearing up to make AI as much a part of our daily lives as the internet has become.
